This is a full time, non-exempt position with a 4-day work week!
Position Summary
The Heat Treat Technician will report to the Production Manager and is responsible for many phases of annealing work, from loading furnace programs to completing magnetic and tensile testing of finished product. The Heat Treat department includes oil burn, annealing, oxide coating, and magnetic and tensile testing. The duties performed include, but are not limited to the following:
•Prepare parts for annealing and oxide coating processes.
•Load pre-written programs into the furnaces.
•Prepare annealed parts for subsequent operations and monitor annealing process.
•Maintain material traceability and accurate labor reporting.
•Monitor inventory of gases.
•Maintain inventory of jobs in Heat Treat staging area. Effective communication skills and collaboration with a team.
•Perform preventive maintenance.
Job Requirements
•Proven track record of being dependable with excellent attendance.
•Ability to solve problems and work independently with minimal supervision.
•Solid mechanical aptitude/ability to work with tools.
•Attention to detail and ability to focus for extended periods of time.
•Ability to read and comprehend manufacturing specifications and engineering drawing.
•Basic computer skills to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
•Ability to follow strict safety guidelines to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and safety procedures.
•Must wear proper Personal Protective Equipment to ensure personal safety.
Education & Experience
•High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
•Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment.
•Three (3) years of heat treat testing experience preferred.
•Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of Employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Physical Requirements
•Ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs.
•Ability to stand for long periods of time.
•Ability to climb stairs.
•Ability to withstand working in a hot environment 8-12 hours per day.
•Good eyesight and ability to read a digital display.
•Position requires regular exposure to oil, dirt, and heat.
