We are seeking a Head of Electrical Systems to lead our technical operations, elevate field execution, strengthen internal processes, and help scale Ethos into a premier commercial builder.
The Head of Electrical Systems is a senior leadership position responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of all technical electrical operations at Ethos. This role ensures that our projects meet the highest standards of safety, quality, compliance, documentation, and performance — from preconstruction through commissioning and close-out.
You will partner closely with the COO, CEO, Project Managers, and Lead Electricians to establish best-in-class electrical practices that support Ethos’ continued growth.
- Oversee all electrical systems design review, constructability input, and field methodology.
- Establish and maintain Ethos standard operating procedures for electrical installations.
- Ensure compliance with NEC/CEC, OSHA, local AHJ regulations, and project specifications.
- Lead technical troubleshooting on complex systems (service upgrades, EV infrastructure, switchgear, distribution, life-safety systems, lighting controls, etc.).
- Create and manage Ethos’ QA/QC standards across all projects.
- Review RFI responses, submittals, panel schedules, TCC/coordination studies, and single-line diagrams.
- Oversee testing and commissioning procedures (megger testing, primary/secondary injection, load studies, arc flash compliance, etc.).
- Maintain documentation accuracy and as-built integrity.
- Support and mentor lead electricians and apprentices to ensure high-level technical execution.
- Conduct technical training on evolving systems and code requirements.
- Provide guidance for troubleshooting, terminations, gear installations, EV charging systems, and complex commercial systems.
- Work with PMs during planning and buyout to ensure proper equipment selection and installation methods.
- Review jobsite conditions and provide solutions for design conflicts.
- Ensure installations follow approved plans and meet technical performance expectations.
- Assist in preconstruction planning for large and complex projects.
- Help develop scalable systems for documentation, quality control, change management, and field operations.
- Contribute to the long-term technical roadmap as Ethos expands into larger commercial and industrial markets.
- Support strategic initiatives related to design-build, EV charging infrastructure, renewable systems, and power distribution upgrades.- 10+ years of commercial/industrial electrical experience.
- Deep knowledge of electrical code, gear, and systems integration.
- Experience leading field teams and providing technical direction.
- Strong understanding of EV charging systems, panel upgrades, switchgear, transformers, and service installations.
- Ability to interpret and redline complex plan sets, single-lines, and specifications.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- California General Electrician certification (JW).
- Experience in healthcare, OSHPD/HCAI, or other high-regulation environments.
- Experience coordinating with utilities (PG&E, CPAU, Silicon Valley Power, etc.).
- Background in testing, commissioning, and quality management.
