HDD Locator

This position is responsible for successful completion of Horizontal Directional Drilling projects. Locators reports directly to the HDD Driller they are working, but will work with all other team members as needed to complete the job.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Operate electronic locating equipment to guide the horizontal directional drill during pilot bore operations.

- Responsible for completion of HDD projects in a safe and timely manner.

- Assist with set up/break down of equipment at job site.

- Locate HDD bores proficiently with DigiTrak F5 System.

- Keep accurate paperwork and drilling information while locating.

- Assist with day to day operations of HDD rig and other responsibilities as assigned by driller.

- Ability to mix mud correctly when situation requires employee to operate mud reclaimers.

- Keep good radio communication with driller while changing tooling.

- Turn in weekly required paperwork: Includes weekly expenses sheets with receipts, time off request.

- Keep a safe and clean working environment.

- Other duties as assigned by supervisors

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

- Capable of maintaining a safe work environment at all times

- Have at least 2 years in heavy equipment operation and general maintenance skills.

- Have minimum of 1 year locating experience (digitrack F5 system preferred)

- Have a good understanding of basic mud fundamentals

- Can safely operate support equipment (backhoe, track hoe, forklift and mini excavator)

- Provide and Maintain accurate paperwork.

- Must have a positive attitude and good work ethic

- Must work well with others and be willing to learn from mentors and others in the shop or field.

- Be willing to travel to the jobsite and stay out of town as needed

- Ability to work outdoors in any weather conditions on a regular basis including extreme cold and heat

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

- Ability to stand, stoop, crouch, kneel, and perform other related physical activities for long periods of time

- Keep a safe and clean worksite

- Must be able to pass DOT required drug test and background check
