Ground Hand

TriCounty Materials and Services in Sanger is hiring a ground hand. The duties of this position will vary on a daily basis. This job is very hard work and will require a lot of physical exertion, including mowing, weed eating, ground work around the recycled concrete plant and property clean up. If you enjoy working outdoors and aren't afraid to get dirty, this is the position for you.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

- Candidate must have the ability to operate a water truck, lawn mowers, weed eaters, tractor and other small equipment and tools.

- Candidate must be very observant and able to receive and follow instruction from supervisors well.

- Ground Hands will be responsible for mowing, weed eating and property clean up.

- During our dry months, the ground hand will operate the water truck on an as needed basis.

- On days that an additional rebar picker is needed at the Recycled Concrete plant, the ground hand may be needed to assist.

- On days that we are operating our wash plant, the ground hand may assist around the plant.

- Some operation of a tractor and other miscellaneous equipment may be assigned on an as needed basis.

- This position in on site only and does not require a CDL or any particular licensing.

Physical Requirements:

- Have good hand/eye coordination and be able to operate hand/foot controls.

- Have good vision to perceive depth at close range and distances up to 150 feet.

- Able to climb on and off of equipment to operate and service.

- Able to bend, stoop, climb and reach around mobile equipment.

- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.

- Able to sit and operate equipment for long periods, up to 10 hours per day.

- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions consistent with extreme ambient temperatures: heat, cold, wetness, dryness, dust and noisy conditions.

- Able to work at various heights.
