The Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) is responsible for the safe, reliable, and economic planning and operation of the Alberta Interconnected Electric System. We provide open and non-discriminatory access to Alberta’s interconnected power grid and also facilitate Alberta’s competitive wholesale electricity market. We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, professional individual to join our Policies & Governance team as a Governance Analyst. The Governance Analyst plays an integral role within the Policy & Governance Team, with primary responsibilities focused on supporting the AESO’s Corporate Secretary. The Governance Analyst ensures corporate readiness for Board and Committee meetings, attends all Board and Committee meetings, takes official minutes, maintains Board records, and develops, enhances, and maintains governance processes, tools, and technologies related to the Board governance.
In addition, the Governance Analyst supports the development of corporate policies and secondary governance documents (SGDs) in accordance with the Policy Management Policy (“PMP”) and assists with the development and implementation of the AESO’s Code of Conduct and related compliance processes.
The Governance Analyst reports directly to the Manager, Policy & Governance, and works closely with the Vice President, Law, General Councel and Corporate Secretary, other members of the Executive, Executive Assistants, and members of AESO Management to facilitate the effective functioning of the Board.
