The Nuclear Company is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director, Project Governance to establish, manage, oversee, and continuously improve the frameworks that ensure the successful, compliant, and efficient delivery of our critical projects. The Director, Project Governance will be a pivotal leader in our organization, responsible for designing, implementing, and maturing a robust project governance framework tailored to the unique complexities and stringent regulatory environment of the nuclear energy industry, within a dynamic startup setting. This role will ensure accountability, transparency, and effective decision-making across all projects, from research & development to engineering, licensing, and deployment. Responsibilities include establishing and maturing governance frameworks, developing and managing PMO functions, providing strategic oversight of the project portfolio, enforcing project reporting mechanisms and KPIs, facilitating project reviews and steering committee meetings, embedding risk management and compliance processes, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and safety protocols, driving a culture of quality and accountability, identifying opportunities for process optimization, leading and mentoring project managers, acting as a trusted advisor to project leads and executive management, and overseeing project management software and tools. Experience required includes a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred), 10+ years in project management with 5+ years in senior leadership or governance roles, proven experience in project governance frameworks and PMOs, direct experience in nuclear or similarly regulated industries, and proficiency with project management methodologies and software.
