About This Job

General Summary:

Embark on a journey that places you at the epicenter of transformation. Enerflex's acquisition of Exterran on October 13, 2022, ignited a seismic shift for Enerflex, effectively doubling our global energy infrastructure assets and adding industry-leading new product lines. We're not passive observers of change; we’re the architects of it.

Moving forward, Enerflex is entering a new era under the leadership of a CEO who joined in September 2025 — bringing a strong focus on winning with purpose and growth that creates shareholder value. The mandate is not simply to grow for growth’s sake, but to deliver meaningful, sustainable results for our stakeholders. To accelerate this next phase, Enerflex is launching a strategic review of its business in partnership with a top management consulting firm to refine and advance our strategic growth plans.

In order to enable the strategy, Enerflex is intentionally shifting toward a

best-in-class continuous improvement (“CI”) and Lean culture

to improve productivity, execution, and enterprise performance across a ~$2B global, manufacturing and asset-based organization. The

Continuous Improvement Manager

plays a critical role in facilitating the

building and sustainment of this culture

by developing enterprise wide CI capabilities, leading high-impact improvement initiatives, and embedding Lean thinking into how the organization works every day.

This role is responsible for

teaching, coaching, and enabling leaders and frontline teams

to continuously identify waste, improve processes, and raise performance standards. This is a

highly hands-on role

requiring significant time in manufacturing facilities, operating locations, and field environments.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in

manufacturing and asset-based operations

, enjoys working directly with frontline teams and functional shared services and is energized by driving change where the work happens.

This is a pivotal role that helps shape the organization’s culture, drives engagement, and aligns people to our CI objectives. The ideal candidate will bring operational excellence and a deep commitment to developing a CI culture.

This isn’t just a job — it’s an opportunity to be a force multiplier in a company not merely adapting to change, but boldly defining its future

Leadership Comptencies and Expertise: Continuous Improvement & Operational Leadership

- Demonstrated ability to lead and execute Lean, CI, and productivity initiatives in manufacturing and asset-based environments.

- Proven track record of translating CI principles into practical, sustained operational improvements at the point of execution.

Training & Capability Building

- Proven ability to teach, coach, and develop CI capability across multiple levels of the organization.

- Experience designing and delivering Lean training, facilitating Kaizen events, and building repeatable CI toolkits that enable teams to lead their own improvements.

- Commitment to building self-sustaining CI capability, not dependency on central resources.

Influence Without Authority

- Strong ability to influence, align, and motivate leaders and frontline teams without direct reporting authority.

- Skilled at building trust and credibility with plant leaders, operators, engineers, and functional partners through hands-on engagement and results.

Analytical & Financial Acumen

- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify root causes, quantify opportunities, and prioritize initiatives based on enterprise value and ROI.

- Ability to connect operational improvements to financial outcomes, including productivity, gross margin, SG&A, and cash flow.

Execution Discipline & Results Orientation

- Highly execution-oriented with a bias toward action, follow-through, and measurable results.

- Experience establishing metrics, tracking benefits realization, and ensuring improvements are embedded and sustained over time.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:

Continuous Improvement Leadership & Culture

- Lead the design, launch, and ongoing execution of Enerflex’s enterprise CI program.

- Drive a visible, engaging CI culture that encourages participation, ownership, and healthy competition across regions and functions.

- Establish mechanisms that recognize and celebrate high-impact CI initiatives and best-in-class performance.

- Serve as a champion and role model for Lean thinking, problem-solving, and CI behaviors.

Training & Capability Building

- Design and deliver Lean and CI training programs, including workshops, Gemba walks, and hands-on coaching.

- Build and maintain an enterprise CI toolkit, including standard methodologies, templates, and best practices.

- Develop CI capability across the organization so improvement becomes embedded and self-sustaining over time.

Kaizen & Improvement Execution

- Work with teams to analyze and optimize end-to-end workflows to improve cycle time, standardization, throughput, and effectiveness.

- Lead, facilitate, and teach Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Kaizen events, Gemba walks, and structured Lean problem-solving activities.

- Apply Lean problem-solving tools to drive measurable improvements in key performance indicators, including productivity, cost, quality, safety, and delivery.

- Spend time onsite in manufacturing facilities and operating locations to observe work, identify waste, and drive improvements at the point of execution.

- Partner with plant managers, operations leaders, and frontline teams to improve asset utilization, reliability, and performance.Value, Cost & Financial Impact

- Conduct cost, productivity, and value analyses to size opportunities and prioritize larger CI initiatives.

- Partner with team members to quantify, track, and sustain financial and operational benefits, including impacts to gross margin, SG&A, and cash flow.

Governance, Measurement & Adoption

- Develop change management strategies to ensure improvements are adopted and sustained.

- Establish CI metrics, dashboards, and reporting to track participation, progress, and realized benefits.

- Collaborate with cross-functional and regional teams during CI events and follow-up sessions to ensure execution and benefits realization.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or related field required.

- Lean, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt), or equivalent certification strongly preferred.

- 10–20 years of experience in manufacturing, asset-based, or industrial operations, with hands-on exposure to production, maintenance, or field operations.

- Strong operational and financial acumen with the ability to translate improvements into measurable business impact.

- Proven ability to influence without authority in a decentralized, matrixed organization.

- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office suite.

- Ability to travel internationally as required.

- Be able to work in a fast-paced executive office environment requiring discretion, judgment, and a high degree of confidentiality.
