The Clark County Water Reclamation District is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the GIS Technician I/II position.
- Converting CAD (DWG/DXF) files into GIS-compatible formats and updating corresponding GIS database layers.
- Reviewing construction as-built and record drawing submittals to ensure compliance with District CAD standards.
- Performing data research and collection of various data types—including AutoCAD, GPS, and tabular data—for integration into GIS datasets.
- Conducting manual and visual quality control checks of preliminary data and final products to ensure accuracy and integrity of all data entering the system.
- Developing and maintaining a GIS basemap within a CAD environment to support future engineering design projects.
- Conducting field visits to visually verify and/or re-collect data using GPS to resolve discrepancies and improve data accuracy.

Education and Experience:
Geographic Information Systems Technician I - Equivalent to completion of an Associate's Degree OR technical school with major course work in drafting, pre-engineering, computer science or geographic studies or a closely related field. Full-time experience in digitizing data or working with geographic information system data may be substituted for the education on a year for year basis.Geographic Information Systems Technician II - In addition to the above: Minimum of one (1) year of full-time technical experience in entering data and producing finished documents using a geographic information system.
