GIS Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled GIS Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and be proficient in various technical tools and programming languages. This role involves analyzing spatial data, managing databases, and providing insights through data visualization. The GIS Specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project management and contribute to land surveying and construction initiatives.

Responsibilities

- Utilize GIS software, particularly ArcGIS, to create and manage spatial datasets.

- Conduct data collection and analysis to support project objectives.

- Develop data models and manage relational databases for effective data storage and retrieval.

- Collaborate with land surveying teams to integrate GPS data into GIS applications.

- Draft detailed maps and reports using AutoCAD and CAD software.

- Implement scripting solutions using Python or JavaScript for automation of GIS processes.

- Visualize complex datasets through effective data visualization techniques.

- Manage projects by coordinating with various stakeholders and ensuring timely delivery of GIS-related tasks.

- Maintain documentation of GIS processes, methodologies, and best practices on SharePoint.

Requirements

- Proficiency in GIS technologies, including ArcGIS and GPS systems.

- Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis, modeling, and management.

- Familiarity with SQL for database management and querying.

- Experience in land surveying principles is preferred.

- Knowledge of AutoCAD and drafting techniques is a plus.

- Leadership skills to guide project teams effectively.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.

- Familiarity with APIs for integrating external data sources into GIS applications is advantageous.
