YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Reporting to the Manager - Mining, you will be part of the Mine Operations Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
•Provide leadership and oversight for mine development, production, and construction, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork;
•Plan, direct, and coordinate mine operations in a safe, environmentally responsible, and efficient manner, either personally or through supervisors;
•Monitor and manage key performance indicators, including cost control, productivity, health and safety, and employee engagement;
•Collaborate with the Management team to establish and maintain production and quality standards, leveraging technology and mining expertise;
•Set priorities and direct mining activities to ensure operational efficiency and cost effectiveness;
•Analyze production data to identify variances and implement corrective actions;
•Coordinate with engineering and other departments to improve productivity and operational efficiency;
•Develop an Operational Readiness Plan to ensure the project’s successful launch and ramp up to full production;
•Provide training, coaching, and development opportunities for employees, addressing performance and behavioral issues as needed;
•Assist in preparing and managing capital and operating budgets, regularly reviewing expenditures to control costs;
•Liaise with vendors and suppliers to ensure efficient use of materials and tools;
•Oversee investigations of safety incidents, ensuring timely and accurate reporting, and recommend improvements to enhance safety;
•Perform other related duties as required;
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
•College diploma (DEC) in Mineral Technology or equivalent training/experience in a related field;
•Minimum of 10 years of underground mining experience, including supervisory roles;
•Possess or be eligible for Level 2 Supervisor Certification as per the Mine Act;
•Possess or be eligible to obtain a valid First Aid Certificate;
•Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude, able to develop and foster a team environment;
•Thorough working knowledge and understanding of efficient mining practices, procedures and regulations;
•Openness to automation and technological innovation;
•Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
Your Work Schedule:
•Schedule: 21 days of work, followed by 21 days for transportation and rest; flights departing from Edmonton, AB and Yellowknife, NWT.
•Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
