General Manager Operations

Job Summary:

The General Manager of Operation will plan and oversee the daily operations of the organization to ensure goals and objectives are achieved.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

- Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of assigned staff

- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive

- Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy

Other Duties & Responsibilities:

- Plans and organizes daily activities related to operations

- Understanding of Logistics as it pertains to inter-provincial shipping

- Measures productivity by analyzing performance data and activity reports

- Coordinates with other support departments such as Human Resources, and the Order Desk to ensure successful production operations

- Oversees the shipping and receiving functions

- Determines labour needs to meet production goals

- Assists with budget preparation for operations unit

- Assists with, or prepares and updates, organization operations manual and policies

- Ensure plant inspections, preventative maintenance plans are utilized

- Standard operating procedures – provide input and ensure execution of SOP’s

- Create long-term plans and initiatives to accomplish company goals efficiently

- Ensure training standards are designed and implemented

- Developing and implementing strategies to keep employees motivated and dedicated

- Identifying problems and coming up with effective solutions quickly

Required Skills & Abilities

:

- Excellent managerial and supervisory skills

- Extensive knowledge of operations and production management

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software

- Analytical skills

- Problem-solving skills

- Written and oral communication skills

- Ability to identify opportunities of efficiency

- Strong skills in budget development and oversight

- Proficiency in conflict management

- Knowledge of business productivity software and an aptitude for learning new applications

Education & Experience:

- Bachelors degree in Business Management, Business Administration or related field

- Five years of related experience required
