Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the General Manager, Area Operations leads safe, efficient, and reliable execution of delivery and service across assigned geographic areas, including ancillary business lines. Drives operational excellence, compliance, and customer satisfaction by coordinating strategies and initiatives as directed by the Operations Leader. What You'll Do:
- Oversee delivery and service execution, ensuring compliance with protocols, route adherence, fleet schedules, and SOPs.
- Manage field workforce performance, enforce efficiency programs (overtime, idle time, fuel cost, route adherence), and provide input for workforce planning.
- Monitor and report inventory levels (propane, parts, tanks) and variances.
- Liaise with Logistics, Network/Fleet/Service, Customer Experience, HR, HSE, IT, and Finance for operational alignment.
- Collaborate with Commercial Sales & Marketing to address customer feedback and resolve issues.
- Enforce operational KPIs and identify process improvement opportunities.
- Maintain high standards of safety and regulatory compliance across all operations.
- Note: Strategic functions such as routing & scheduling, long-term workforce planning, network/fleet maintenance, service offering, product/pricing, marketing, sales, call center management, and procurement for large purchases are managed centrally.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 10+ years’ senior operations leadership experience, ideally in energy, logistics, or industrial sectors.- Proven ability to lead large, geographically dispersed frontline teams.
- Strong people leadership and team-building skills.
- Expertise in delivery/service execution, fleet operations, and inventory management.
- Deep knowledge of safety and regulatory compliance (DOT, HSE).
- Track record of driving operational efficiency and process improvement.
- Skilled in cross-functional collaboration (Commercial, HR, Finance, Routing & Scheduling, Procurement).
- Customer-focused, with experience managing feedback and issue resolution.
- Commitment to health & safety best practices.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Adaptable to organizational change and future-state operating models
