Fuel Billing Analyst

Duties

- Review and process fuel invoices, ensuring all billing data aligns with contractual terms and regulatory requirements

- Perform detailed account analysis and account reconciliation to verify billing accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly

- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, or other financial tools to input data, generate reports, and maintain records

- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls during all billing activities

- Collaborate with accounts receivable teams to follow up on overdue payments and facilitate collections when necessary

- Prepare journal entries related to fuel transactions, revenue recognition, and adjustments in accordance with corporate accounting standards

- Support audits by providing documentation, conducting analysis, and maintaining organized billing records

Skills

- Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and account analysis

- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms

- Knowledge of SOX compliance requirements and public accounting practices

- Experience with accounts payable/receivable processes, revenue cycle management, and journal entries

- Familiarity with medical terminology or CPT coding is a plus for related billing functions

- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy (10 key typing) and attention to detail

- Effective negotiation skills for resolving billing disputes and customer service experience for handling client inquiries

- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities to identify discrepancies and improve processes

- Ability to interpret complex financial data using analysis skills and apply GAAP standards effectively

- Professional phone etiquette and communication skills for engaging with clients or internal teams

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
