We are looking for a dedicated and caring individual to provide exceptional customer service. As one of the first points of contact, you will be responsible for providing members with superior service over multiple channels including in person, phone, mail or fax. Your superior skills will be applied in a number of ways, including accepting, processing and posting payments accurately to member’s accounts; responding and resolving member’s concerns; explaining electric charges to members. This position will also assist in dispatch during non-business hours for Rutherford Electric Membership Cooperative (REMC) to assist consumer requests concerning power outages, member service issues, etc. The hours for this position is from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. Monday thru Friday.
You will also be part of the on call team to answer calls during power outages, which may require working longer hours or any hours of the day or night.

Successful candidate must possess strong interpersonal, listening, problem solving, verbal and written communication skills, coupled with an attention to detail, good organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple assignments. Prefer someone with a two year degree in Business, Accounting or other related field. Money handling experience is preferred. Microsoft Office Word and Excel knowledge is required. Bi-lingual (English-Spanish) applicants are encouraged to apply. Successful candidate must live in the Lincoln-Gaston district or reside 30 minutes from the Cherryville office.
