Job Title: Quality Control Technician
Location: Peace River, AB (no LOA)
The Quality Control Technician collects/prepares samples and performs laboratory tests to ensure our material continually meets or exceeds our high-quality standards. This position requires work in outside weather conditions.

What You’ll Be Doing:
•Collect product samples from various areas of the production process.
•Conduct quality tests ensuring attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
•Understand and apply all normal laboratory calculations for the product being developed.
•Understand and apply industry quality standards. Follow the Company’s laboratory best practices and standards.
•Understand the plant process, monitor quality samples, and analyze information. Use reason to address issues and problems. Summarize and communicate findings with appropriate staff.
•Assist in the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
•Document results clearly and thoroughly along with proper record keeping for daily production and inspections.
•Maintain laboratory working areas to ensure clean, orderly, and safe working conditions.
•Shovel/clean up spillage of sand, rock, or mud at conveyor transfer points, feeder discharges, plant leakage areas, and spillovers.
•Observe and monitor production equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations and to identify malfunctions.
•Perform plant inspections, within scope, and report issues to plant operator and/or shift supervisor.
•Assist maintenance with special projects when required.
•Cross-train in other positions as needed.
•Promote a positive company image during the course and scope of the performance of these duties.

Who We’re Looking For:
•High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
•At least 1 year of previous work history in a laboratory setting, preferred.
•Must have excellent attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
•Ability to perform basic mathematics, including percentages and fractions as well as the ability to use a calculator.
•Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Outlook.
•Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and data entry.
•Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
•Ability to read, interpret, and apply written procedures.
•Excellent communication skills.
•Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to work well on a team.
