Note: This position will move to sites of the drilling
Job Summary:
This position performs general manual labor duties along with assisting other team members with daily operational tasks of the drilling rig
Duties/Responsibilities:
•Assist Driller, Derrick hand and Floor hands with rigging, tear out, mixing mud, and maintenance while drilling operation commence at site
•Preparation of floor prior to pipe trips, connections, and surveys
•Works on the rig floor during drilling and tripping operations
•Handles and measures tubular goods; elevators, slips and operate hoists and racking equipment as directed
•Makes and breaks tubular connections using tongs, and/or iron roughneck, and handles tubular goods, spinning chain, iron roughnecks, elevators, and slips.
•Inspects connections on drill floor and drilling equipment including derrick. Fix or replace faulty connections.
•Performs manual labor duties such as housekeeping, painting, washing around rig, obtaining samples, digs mud ditches, etc.
•Operates additional equipment such as forklifts, heavy equipment, and auxiliary equipment
•Work overtime, weekends, holidays, etc. as required to complete the job necessary
•Responsible for immediate reporting of accidents and incidents
•Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
•Knowledge and ability Work on a drill rig
•Knowledge of and compliance with all OSHA safety procedures and protocol
•Ability to work in a team and share knowledge of other rig positions
•Safely operate forklifts, heavy equipment, and auxiliary equipment
•Knowledge of rigging fundamentals and protocol
•Proficient in both verbal and written communication
•Think quickly and respond to changing situations
•Ability to conduct all tasks with honesty and integrity
•Ability to drive positive and productive outcomes
•Possess a valid state driver’s license
Education and Experience:
•Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education and Experience:
•One year (1)+ rig experience in drilling experience
Physical and work environments requirements:
•Ability to work on a drill rig
•Ability to lift to 50lbs
•Ability to work in adverse weather conditions (i.e., hot, cold, etc.)
•Ability to climb, work at elevated platforms, ladders, and walkways frequently
•Ability to stand for long periods of time consistently
•Ability to stoop, bend or kneel frequently
•Must be able to traverse all areas of working sites
•Must be able to travel to various locations
•Must be able to inspect construction sites, systems, and projects visually
•Must be able to operate a company vehicle with a valid driver’s license
