Note: This position will move to sites of the drilling
Job Summary:
This position executes and maintains proper functioning of machines, engines, tanks, pumps, and other drilling equipment for continuous operations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
•Assist Driller, Derrick hand and Floor hand with rigging, tear out, mixing mud, and maintenance while drilling operation commence at site
•Completes preventative maintenance of the rig at floor level and above motors for the proper and safe operation
•Assist Rig mechanic on rig and machinery repairs
•Lubricates machinery to keep running efficiently
•Daily inspections and maintenance of rig motors
•Keeps maintenance reports and records regular reporting data for rig motors and equipment
•Operates additional equipment such as forklifts, heavy equipment, and auxiliary equipment
•Make and breaks tabular connection using tongs, and/or iron roughneck, and handles tubular goods, spinning chain, iron roughnecks, elevators, and slips.
•Performs manual labor duties such as housekeeping, painting, washing around rig, obtaining samples, digs mud ditches, etc.
•Work overtime, weekends, holidays, etc. as required to complete the job necessary
•Responsible for immediate reporting of accidents and incidents
•Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
•Knowledge and ability to work on a drill rig
•Knowledge of and compliance with all OSHA safety procedures and protocol
•Ability to work in a team and share knowledge of other rig positions
•Safely operate forklifts, heavy equipment, and auxiliary equipment
•Knowledge of rigging fundamentals and protocol
•Proficient in both verbal and written communication
•Think quickly and respond to changing situations
•Ability to conduct all tasks with honesty and integrity
•Ability to drive positive and productive outcomes
•Possess a valid state driver’s license
Education and Experience:
•Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
•Minimum six (6) months rig experience in drilling
Preferred Education and Experience:
•Two (2) years+ of Geothermal thermal energy rig drilling
Physical and work environments requirements:
•Ability to work on a drill rig
•Ability to lift to 50lbs
•Ability to work in adverse weather conditions (i.e., hot, cold, etc.)
•Ability to climb, work at elevated platforms, ladders, and walkways frequently
•Ability to stand for long periods of time consistently
•Ability to stoop, bend or kneel frequently
•Must be able to traverse all areas of working sites
•Must be able to travel to various locations
•Must be able to inspect construction sites, systems, and projects visually
•Must be able to operate a company vehicle with a valid state driver’s license
