Note: This position requires travel to active drilling sites.
Job Summary:
This position will be responsible for the oversight of the safe and effective operations of the drill rig on identified Geothermal sites.
Open Mountain Energy, LLC will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
Essential Functions:
•Ensure drilling operations and other activities associated with rig are working effectively and efficiently.
•Confirm rig operation is conducted as defined in the drilling programs; communicate and deficiencies and/or modifications avoiding damage to rig, environment or persons
•Ensure the policy of STOP system, to include careful monitoring of personnel; practice complete understanding of the process with employees by audit and submittal of documentation to Human Resources and/or Safety Manager
•Report and consult with other members of management on progress
•Submit and accurately process requested documentation, daily reports or data entry as required
•Respond rapidly to any emergency matters affecting the safe operation of the drill performance and/or personnel
•Maintain proper tooling, equipment and supplies as required for drilling rig
•Comply with OSHA requirements including but not limited to Permit to Work Systems
•Plans various rig activities such as repairs, daily maintenance or drilling fluids, rig up or down, and other drilling activities
•Order rig supplies, parts and materials required to ensure proper stock is on location as required
•Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
•Knowledge of rigging procedures and protocol
•Knowledge of and compliance with OHSA safety procedures and protocol
•Ability to prepare reports and manage data.
•Excellent organizational skills.
•Strong knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office computer systems
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Possess a valid state issued driver’s license
Education and Experience:
•Minimum Four (4) years rig experience as a driller or two (2) years as a Rig Manager
Preferred Education and Experience:
•Three (3) years+ of Geothermal drilling experience
Physical Requirements:
•Must inspect construction sites, systems, and projects visually
•Climb, work at elevated platforms, ladders, and walkways frequently
•Stand for long periods of time consistently
•Stoop, bend or kneel frequently
•Work in all weather conditions
•Lift to up to 50lbs consistently
•Must traverse areas of construction sites consistently
•Must travel to various locations occasionally
•Must operate a company vehicle frequently
•Must endure continuous vibrations and elevated noise levels consistently
•Must wear all required PPE equipment consistently

Pay: $130,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
