Fleet Technician C*

Position Description

- Performs preventative maintenance, tire replacement & repair and assists in the repair of Santee Cooper vehicles & equipment. Responsible for learning and utilizing safety & environmental practices and company procedures on all job tasks.

Essential Job Tasks

- Assists in performing minor repair or replacement of (light & heavy) vehicle & equipment systems and components.

- Performs minor troubleshooting of system failures (with and without Fleet Tech (A) or (B) assistance) using manufacturer's procedures, diagnostic equipment, experience and job knowledge.

- Assists (A) and (B) Fleet Technicians in the rebuild or replacement of major components.

- Performs other duties as required such as vehicle & equipment preparation, preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, wrecker calls, change & repair tires, general house keeping and assists in fabrication & modification of vehicle & equipment structures through the use of welding & cutting equipment.

- Assists and learns how to complete all job related paperwork, ordering parts, and creating & completing work orders using an automotive based computer system using asset management software.

- Prepares new vehicles & equipment for use.
