Join Our Team as a Fleet Mechanic!
MOR Construction, a leading family operated regional construction and maintenance company based in Glen Mills, PA, is seeking a full-time Fleet Mechanic to join our dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Fleet Mechanic to join our growing team of highly engaged individuals. Candidates must have experience working on trucks and engines (gas and diesel), machinery (skid steer, backhoe, etc.), small engine (mowers, weed whackers, etc) and must provide their own tools.
The job will include but is not limited to the following:
- DOT compliance
- Ordering parts, and keeping inventory
- Choosing and comparing vendors for quality and cost analysis
- Reporting on fleet statistics such as cost per mile, and fleet mileage
- Adjusting service intervals with outside vendors to maximize vehicle life
- Scheduling repairs with outside vendors and communicating with them to minimize downtime
- Some research and miscellaneous tasks
- General repairs, diagnosis, and vehicle maintenance
- Oil changes, brakes, tire mounting and balancing, etc.
- Prepping new vehicles
- Communication with drivers to help determine issues with the fleet
- Communication with supervisor regarding repair issues
- Transports vehicles to outside repair shops for work not completed in-house
- Detailing, steam cleaning, and waxing the fleet
- Maintaining equipment and garage
- Be well organized and have excellent follow-through.
- Have knowledge of basic vehicle and equipment repair and maintenance
- Be reliable and work an assigned regular schedule including overtime when necessary
- Have excellent problem-solving skills
- Demonstrate skills in the use of computers and diagnostic tools
- Exhibit excellent time management
- Work well with others, at all levels of the company, to achieve team goals.
- Maintain positive relationships through courteous and respectful action
- Must possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver's license
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a diesel mechanic role
- Strong focus on safety and equipment maintenance.
- Pass a background check and drug test screening
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
- Class A Commerical Driver's License
- Inspection/Emissions/Specialty certifications
- Bi-Lingual in Spanish
- Experience with vacuum units and their operation (preferred).
