Mutual Propane is seeking for an experienced fleet mechanic. We have a friendly, family-oriented work environment and we offer excellent benefits and wages. The position may require some local travel to our regional locations in Tustin, Corona, and Temecula during regular business hours (company service truck provided). The position is based at our home office in Gardena.
The responsibilities of this position include:
•
Performance of routine automotive maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, transmission maintenance, battery maintenance, brakes, water pump, alternator and headlight/taillight repairs, tune ups, and other routine repairs and maintenance on our fleet of cars and trucks. You should have a working knowledge of these repairs.
•
Conduct diagnostic procedures to determine the sources of vehicle problems and provide accurate repair recommendations.
•
Conduct 90-day BIT inspections on medium duty trucks. Experience with airbrake systems a plus but will train if necessary.
•
Conduct necessary repairs and take vehicles for test drives. A CDL with Haz-mat and tanker endorsement is needed to drive our placarded trucks. Company is willing to train and assist eligible candidate to obtain a CDL.
•
Ideal candidate will be familiar with CARB's Clean Truck Check program and have the ability to obtain testing credentials from CARB.
•
Maintain legible and accurate paperwork for both the customer and for our records. You will be expected to clean and maintain the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety.
•
Ability to operate all auto repair tools with knowledge of PPE. Personal tools required.
High school diploma/GED required. ASE certification a plus. We would like a minimum of 3 years vehicle technician experience. Experience with propane powered engines helpful but not required. Willingness to participate in in-house training.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
