Minimum Requirements
Education and Experience
•High School Diploma or GED.
•Certification from an accredited automotive or diesel school.
•Minimum 3 years’ experience in gasoline, diesel vehicles and construction equipment, or power generation.
•Minimum 5 years in gasoline, diesel vehicles, construction equipment or power generation. – Fleet Sr. Mechanic Only
•Any equivalent combination of certifications, education, or experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities for the position.
Licenses, Registration, and Certifications
•Must possess and maintain a valid Class ‘R’ Colorado driver’s license and have a satisfactory driving record.
•Must possess one Automotive or Truck ASE certification.
•Must possess Forklift certification within 6 months of appointment.
•Must possess a valid Class ‘B’ Colorado Commercial Driver’s License within 6 months of appointment. – Fleet Sr. Mechanic Only
•Must possess DOT Inspection certification within 6 months of appointment. – Fleet Sr. Mechanic Only
•Must possess State Emissions certification within 6 months of appointment. – Fleet Sr. Mechanic Only

Position Summary
Under general supervision performs skilled repair work in overhauling, repairing and maintaining a wide variety of diesel and gasoline powered automotive, stationary engine/power generation, and earth- moving construction equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•Perform preventative maintenance on trucks, construction equipment, trailers, generators and small equipment.
•Perform all general repairs typically found on a preventative maintenance inspections.
•Inspects and makes visual and mechanical tests of vehicles or equipment to determine the nature and extent of repairs needed. May use electronic diagnostic equipment.
•Adjusts, aligns, or replaces chassis parts, such as steering assemblies, brakes, wheels and axles.
•Performs maintenance and repair of stationary engine and power generation equipment.
•Maintains tools and equipment in proper condition by cleaning, sharpening and oiling; keeps work area in a neat and orderly condition.
•Perform related work as required.
In addition to the above, the Fleet Sr. Mechanic will all be responsible for:
•Assist in training personnel in standard job methods and procedures, proper use of tools and equipment, and safe working practices.
•Perform DOT inspections in accordance to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
•Must be able to perform safety sensitive functions.
Hiring Range
$27.32 - $30.96 per hour
