Finishing Team Lead

The Cotterman Company is the largest manufacturer of rolling metal and fixed metal ladders in North America. We are looking for a motivated 1st Shift Finishing Team Lead to coordinate the paint, assembly, packaging and truckload departments in meeting production goals and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

- Coordinate the paint, assembly, packaging, and truckload preparation of products.

- Monitor Agility open orders to follow build and shipping schedules.

- Ensure assigned personnel meet production goals and quality standards.

- Be self-managed by working in areas that are critical to ensuring the on-time scheduled shipping of open orders.

- Direct workforce in primary duties and re-direct as required.

- Quality inspects ladders / parts for missing or faulty welds or other flaws. Reports quality issues to the weld lead.

- Participate in work-team problem solving, and training of employees.

- Communicate with the Plant Manager and group leaders daily.

- Cover the Shipping Department as needed.

- Ensure assigned personnel follow safety rules and work in a productive manner.

- Coordinate administration of employee discipline according to the Employee Handbook.

- Undergo training in supervision and technical applications when required.

- Perform all duties consistent with the Cotterman Employee Handbook.

- Maintain knowledge of Company Policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

- Report any unsafe working conditions immediately to the supervisor for correction.

- Maintain a neat and clean work area.

- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

- High School graduate or equivalent required.

- An ability to effectively read and write to maintain accurate documentation and understand ladder descriptions.

- Knowledge of special ladder features.

- Bilingual (Preferred).

- Strong leadership skills with previous experience in a lead position.

- Ability to routinely and safely lift and move up to 50 pounds.

- Knowledge of safety requirements.
