We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically strong Financial Reporting Accounting Manager with a primary focus on monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, technical accounting, and audit readiness. This role will be central to ensuring accurate U.S. GAAP financial statements, preparing audit workpapers, and addressing complex accounting matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting, researching and applying U.S. GAAP, and working with auditors to complete annual audit deliverables. This position will also work with the Company’s tax accountants to provide supporting schedules, and review and respond to tax inquiries. This position is hands-on, with emphasis on technical rigor, reporting accuracy, and compliance. Broader initiatives include automation in financial reporting using new financial reporting tools that will interface with the Company’s accounting system.
- Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual U.S. GAAP consolidated financial statements
- Research and document technical accounting issues, including complex transactions and the impact of new accounting standards on the Company
- Ensure consistent application of accounting policies across entities
- Prepare and review supporting schedules and audit-ready workpapers
- Manage the audit process, serving as the primary liaison with external auditors
- Assist with tax filing requirements, compilation of tax return support, and miscellaneous tax work
- Partner with project accounting teams to ensure accurate reporting for renewable energy assets comprising solar and battery energy storage systems
- Monitor compliance with internal controls and support improvements to strengthen financial reporting integrity
- Provide accounting guidance and training to staff on reporting and technical topics
- Collaborate with the Controller and other managers on special projects requiring technical accounting input
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or higher (CPA strongly preferred)
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience with a strong emphasis on financial reporting and technical accounting; public accounting experience a plus
- Knowledge: Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and audit processes
- Industry accounting experience for development and operation of solar and battery energy storage systems a plus
- Experience working with accounting standards covering capitalization of costs, leases, debt, common control transactions, tax equity investors, non-controlling interest, consolidations, and eliminations a plus
- Demonstrated ability to prepare financial statements and technical accounting memos
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems (SAP Business One preferred) and advanced Excel skills
- Exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy
- Clear, concise communication skills, including the ability to explain technical accounting issues to non-technical stakeholders
