Palmdale Water District is seeking a Finance Manager/Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The CFO is responsible for overseeing and directing the operations of the Finance Department, including accounting, payroll, budgeting, financial reporting, debt management, and long-term financial planning. Reporting to the General Manager/CEO, this leadership role involves coordinating with other departments and external agencies, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards (GASB, GAAP), and managing internal controls and audits. The CFO prepares and administers the District’s budget, supervises staff, develops fiscal policies, and represents the District in financial matters such as bond issuance and investment strategy. Additionally, the CFO serves as Treasurer and Auditor/Controller for Joint Powers Authorities, managing complex financial functions and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.
