Job Title: Field Service Technician – Rotary Gas Meters & Electronic Index
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Service Technician to join our team, specializing in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of rotary gas meters and their electronic index components. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in gas measurement systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service to our customers.
- Install, calibrate, and commission rotary gas meters and electronic index units at customer sites.
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance on gas metering equipment, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Diagnose and repair faults in electronic index systems, including firmware updates, sensor replacements, and communication module troubleshooting.
- Conduct field inspections and audits to verify meter performance and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Interface with customers to provide technical support, training, and guidance on meter operation and data interpretation.
- Document service activities for reporting work completed to address issues for feedback to design teams.
- Collaborate with engineering and product support teams to resolve complex technical issues.
- Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and equipment required for field service operations.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while working in field environments.
- Associate’s degree or technical certification in electronics, instrumentation, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience servicing gas meters, preferably rotary meters with electronic indexes.- Strong understanding of gas measurement principles and electronic metering technologies.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, software interfaces, and handheld devices.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple service calls efficiently.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively.
- Experience with Dresser Measurement Products
- Familiarity with SCADA systems, telemetry, and remote data acquisition.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., AGA/ANSI) related to gas metering.
