Field Service Mechanic

Reports to: Fleet Service Supervisor

Summary: We are looking for a self-starter Field Service Mechanic to perform mechanic duties on all Bird Electric Equipment.

Required Qualifications: May be required to work extended hours in inclement weather

Must have own tools

Must be able to apply perform preventative maintenance from light duty trucks too heavy-duty haul trucks.

Must be able to work in direct sunlight, inclement weather or at night.

Must be physically able to do all assigned tasks that relate to mechanic work

Must be able to apply perform preventative maintenance and service Hydraulic mounted equipment.

Must have knowledge of brakes, wiring, and engine diagnostics.

Must be able to demonstrate that they can follow all OSHA Federal Register work requirements as pertaining to the trade.

Must be able to wear company provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Must be capable of climbing on, under and around equipment.

Must be capable of bending and twisting using proper safety techniques.

Must be physically able to kneel, squat or crawl as needed.

Must have a good driving record, as well as a Class A CDL

Knowledge of aerial lift mechanics a plus.

This position is a DOT (Department of Transportation) covered classification and is subject to random drug and/or alcohol screening.

Job Responsibilities

Diagnostics: Conducts visual, auditory and operational inspection of vehicles and equipment to identify and troubleshoot problems for repair; identifies problem causes; research problems via repair manuals, schematics, OEM's, service bulletins and other mechanics as needed.

Repairs/Rebuilds Vehicles & Components: Uses hand tools and power tools to disassemble, access and re- assemble equipment or components; removes and replaces broken or worn parts (such as cylinders, brakes, and gaskets); performs tune-ups and electrical repairs

Desired Experience: 3 years + (Pay will reflect on experience)

Requirements:

- Must be able to pass a Drug Test

- Must be able to pass a 7-year Background Check

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
