$70,000 - $92,000

The Field Construction Coordinator (“FCC”) supports construction site operations by facilitating communication between the field team, subcontractors, suppliers, and project management. This role is responsible for coordinating materials, equipment, and logistics to ensure that construction activities stay on schedule, meet quality standards, and follow safety guidelines. Project locations may occur in several locations within upstate NY including Rochester, Buffalo, Binghamton and Liberty.
- Perform QA/QC and program management duties as directed.
- Availability to support emergency storm restoration efforts.
- Under the guidance of the Construction Manager, the FCC will assist with oversight of electric utility work performed for Electric Operations by line contractors to ensure the best interest of the client. This role will be responsible for a number of contractor crews.
- The FCC will be responsible to field check crews, help coordinate vegetation management sequencing, perform quality control, handle paperwork and scheduling.
- The FCC should be familiar with work orders, engineering sketches, permits, and easements.
- The FCC will represent the Company in working with the contractor supervisor/working foreman for the duration of the project to make sure material resource needs are met, construction plan is followed, and project paperwork needed for invoice approval is submitted in a timely manner.
- The FCC will assist with field inspections and monitor the contractor to ensure conformity of electric distribution and/or transmission projects to the client’s construction standards.
- The FCC may be required to interact with a wide range of stakeholders (internal and external) to resolve problems and minimize project delays. This can include speaking with customers, pedestrians, client reps, safety specialists, energy control center operators and several other utility-related contacts.
- Assess the health of utility assets and equipment as they relate to the utility inspection program.
- All other tasks as assigned by management.
- Very organized, and able provide a good paper trail.
- Work proactively to solve problems and meet deadlines.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.Must have a BS/BA or 5+ yrs combined experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Construction Management
- Construction, maintenance and testing of electrical equipment
- Relay protection and control systems
- Start-up and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems
- Electrical Field engineering
- Arc Flash safety training
- Troubleshooting of electrical equipment or systems.
- SCADA and communication systems
First Aid/AED and OSHA 10 / OSHA 30 certifications a plus.
