We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled
Field Construction Manager Assistantto join our team at K&A Engineering in
Ithaca, New York.In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging projects that make a real impact in the energy and utility sectors. You’ll be part of a dynamic, people-focused team where your expertise, ideas, and contributions will be valued and celebrated.
Role Expectations
- Responsible for oversight of a number of contractor crews
- Field check crews, do quality control, handle paperwork and scheduling.
- Will represent the Company with assisting the FCC in working with the contractor supervisor/working foreman for the duration of the project to make sure material resource needs are met, construction plan is followed, and project paperwork needed for invoice approval is submitted in a timely manner.
- Will assist with field inspections and monitor the contractor to ensure conformity of electric distribution and/or transmission projects to Customer construction standards.
- May be required to interact with a wide range of stakeholders (internal and external) to resolve problems and minimize project delays.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in progressive related electric utility industry experience, with transmission facilities construction management
- Two (2) years of college is preferred.
- Work in a team environment.
- Good working knowledge through actual use of MS Office products including Excel,
- Access, Word and MS Project.
- Basic knowledge of various electric utility assets and equipment.
- Knowledge of SAP is a plus.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences both in writing and verbally.
- Ability to interact effectively with other groups within the Company organization.
- Must have extensive knowledge in construction and maintenance of Utility equipment, including but not limited to transmission and distribution systems, underground networks and substations.
Pay Range $40—$45/an hour
