We are looking for hard working, dedicated field technicians to join our team.
Operations is the center of our business. You’ll be part of a field team focusing on delivering outstanding products and service to our client base. You will be provided the essential tools to develop skills and expert understanding of the technology that drives our business. Operating environments will vary, from service and drilling rigs, pipeline applications, mining sites, to our facility in Nisku Alberta. You will be responsible to organize, run, and report operations in a field environment.
You will be expected to develop expert skills and knowledge in product line components, operation and installation processes, troubleshooting, safety, appropriate client interaction and the ability to work through complex problems. Hands-on training is provided to quickly develop skillsets. The work is demanding, however is highly rewarding if you enjoy problem solving in a technically challenging environment.
As a member of Precise’s PureLight™ Fiber optic business segment:
- Installation of fiber optics for distributed sensing in various environments and locations
- Prepare wellsite reports and post job de-briefing
- Accountable for team and personal wellsite performance
- Support staff engineering team with required work and troubleshooting requests
- Organize and maintain level or preparedness of equipment
- Active participation in continuous improvement culture
- Ambitious professional attitude that shows initiative
- Effectively manage a crew and/or processes within a year
- Experience and demonstrated knowledge of fiber optic distributed based measurements systems such as DTS, DAS and DSS
- Knowledge of fiber optic installation methods in oilfield, mining and pipeline applications
- Ability to splice fiber optics, perform OTDR and interpret data
- Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting and strong communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple priorities, challenging demands and function positively in a dynamic work environment
- Ability to work under pressure without supervision
- Receptive to international work and work on rotation
- Multi-language skills (read and write) an asset.
- Able to withstand cold weather conditions for extended periods of time
- Mechanically inclined
- Good physical condition
- Minimum, Class 5 driver’s license with clean record
- Must have valid First Aid & H2S training
