Your Next Challenge

As an Intern reporting to the Environment Coordinator, you'll be integrated into the Environment Department and collaborate closely with other Departments of the operation. Your role will involve ensuring the achievement of set goals and objectives while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and environmental values.

Tasks Will Include

•

Carrying out air quality monitoring and regulatory water sampling programs;

•

Assisting with wildlife deterrent operations;

•

Assisting with spill response;

•

Carrying out site inspections;

•

Assisting with wildlife and plant surveys;

•

Assisting with hydrological monitoring.

What You Need To Succeed

•

Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree or technical diploma in Environmental Science or Engineering or a relevent field of study.

•

Students must be enrolled in their university’s formal Co-op program.

•

Versatility and adaptability in wildlife, vegetation, air, soil, water, and sampling work.

•

Mining experience is an asset.

•

Experience in a multicultural environment is an asset.

•

Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

•

Strong interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills.

•

Must have a driver’s license.

•

Water Craft Operator and Firearm Possession and Acquisition Licenses are assets

Note that the official working language at Hope Bay is English. Your Work Schedule

•

Schedule: 21 days of work, followed by 21 days for transportation and rest;

•

Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
