Co-op Student - Computer, Data and Analytics - Fall September 2025

The location for this position is for our Dunsmuir Downtown Vancouver office in BC.
We are looking for a motivated and talented Co-op to join our dynamic team. You will prepare electrical load and sales
analysis, reports, energy uses using modelling tools, techniques and methods; respond to enquiries regarding customer
and energy data analysis.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Prepares a variety of electrical load and sales reports, scenarios and variance analysis used for load management, sales
forecasting and transmission and distribution planning by: determining sources, researching and examining data relating to
energy use and to factors affecting future energy requirements; obtaining economic and statistical data to calculate load
forecasts in conjunction with researched data; calibrate end use model parameters to market results and run model;
prepare statistical tables and narrative reports.
2. Develops new and/or revised customer and energy insights methodologies by: researching and documenting
methodologies and techniques used by other utilities; assessing value and determining applicability to BC Hydro's system;
preparing statistical and narrative reports summarizing findings; implementing new methodology into system; developing
related files, records and computer programs.
3. Conducts energy modelling using established models by: determining sources, researching, obtaining and examining
economic, statistical and sales data relating to energy use and the factors affecting future energy requirements; calibrating
model parameters to market results; analyzing model output and assessing results;
4. Responds to a variety of enquiries related to customer and energy load analysis , energy usage and estimates;
researches, compiles, evaluates and prepares information and packages.
5. Provides technical support in the analysis of customer load profiles; prepares information packages related to customer
load profiles; explains model output as required.
