Under general supervision from the Water Maintenance Supervisor and is subject to review and receive directions from the Water Operations Manager. The Facility Maintenance Technician is specifically charged with directly coordinating and executing the activities related to JCSUD’s main facilities i.e. grounds, buildings. The ideal candidate will be a good steward by nature that takes pride and ownership of his work. Smooth operations and proper upkeep are a daily reflection of his abilities to meet management’s expectations in such a self-motivator. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Maintain the mains office grounds. (grass, flowerbeds, fencing, etc.)
· Maintenance and minor repair of all fleet vehicles.
· Responsible for properly functioning Administration facilities and the overall upkeep and cleanliness of shop area.
· Demonstrate a continuous effort to improve productivity, decrease turnaround times, streamline the work processes; and works cooperatively and jointly to provide a quality seamless work product with co-workers.
· Serves to perform other related duties as may be assigned.

High school diploma or GED equivalent required. At least one year of maintenance or lawn care experience is required.
· Basic understanding of typical facility equipment. (HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Yard)
· Communicate orally with individuals and groups in face-to-face, one-on-one settings, in group settings, or using electronic and digital media.
· Work cooperatively with JCSUD management and fellow employees.
· Work safely without presenting a direct threat to the self, others or the system.
· Conduct other related lawful duties as assigned.
Ability to effectively respond to questions from Department Heads, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
