Performs scheduled and reactive facility maintenance on HVAC systems, lighting, plumbing, restrooms, compressed air lines, space heaters, exhaust fans, and building infrastructure to ensure comfort, functionality, and safety for personnel. Performs inspections and repairs to restrooms, including unclogging drains, fixing leaks, adjusting fixtures, and maintaining usability. Completes minor repairs on electrical items such as replacing lights, resetting breakers, replacing receptacles, switches, and similar components. Uses a variety of power and hand tools such as drills, saws, grinders, wrenches, and screwdrivers to perform general maintenance and repairs. Performs HVAC filter changes, electrical troubleshooting, and communicates with contractors for escalated HVAC issues. Installs, maintains, and repairs building fixtures including doors, locks, ceiling tiles, and flooring materials. Completes general labor tasks such as moving furniture, assembling desks, painting, mounting whiteboards and signage, and relocating items across the facility. Performs basic landscaping and yard maintenance as needed, including mowing, trimming, leaf blowing, snow shoveling, and seasonal tasks. Assists with maintaining facility grounds, sheds, parking lots, driveways, and drainage systems. Performs light carpentry, patching drywall, and repairing or replacing ceiling panels, trim, or baseboards. Coordinates with production and department leads to complete office specific requests or facility work orders. Operates forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and ladders to perform elevated facility repairs or replacements. Assists with coordination of contractors for larger jobs including HVAC repairs, pest control, or contracted facility upgrades. Maintains facility supply inventory and communicates with leadership when materials are needed. May be required to travel between MST and KST facilities depending on workload and operational priorities. Performs routine and scheduled facility PMs including lighting, HVAC units, exhaust fans, and general infrastructure systems. Learns the parts crib process to provide coverage during absences. Assists with setup, cleanup, and general support during company events, cookouts, and facility hosted functions Expected to support the industrial maintenance team when facility work is complete, including assisting with PMs and shutdown projects. This role is intended to be a pipeline into the industrial maintenance technician role and will involve on-the-job learning and exposure to production equipment maintenance. Performs other duties as assigned. Must obtain the following certifications after hire:
High school education or equivalent is required. Previous experience in facilities maintenance, or general repair preferred. Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general building systems. Ability to read and follow instructions, facility layouts, and safety procedures. Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with multiple departments. Must be organized, self-motivated, and capable of working with minimal supervision. Must be able to communicate, both in written and verbal form, effectively with supervisors and co-workers. Regular attendance at work and punctuality are essential job functions. Ability to read and speak English is preferred. Mathematical skills equivalent to high school level, including the ability to do decimals, fractions, and averages required.
Must be able to work a minimum of 10 to 12 hours per day, as required. Standard schedule is Monday through Thursday, 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with additional overtime as needed. Requires full range of body motion to include lifting, bending, twisting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, stooping, and squatting. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Must be able to lift, push, or pull 50 pounds regularly. Frequent walking or standing on concrete floors is required, often while carrying tools or equipment. Work may require climbing ladders or accessing elevated areas for repair work. Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must wear required PPE including safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, and hearing protection as needed.
This position operates throughout all areas of the facility, including production areas, offices, rooftops, exterior grounds, and utility rooms. May be exposed to dust, noise, weather, mechanical hazards, or chemicals related to cleaning and maintenance work. Must work safely around forklifts, personnel, and operating machinery. The manufacturing environment has regular exposure to loud and prolonged noise. Regular exposure to hot temperatures of 95º F to 110º F in the summer due to the combination of the actual outside temperature and heat from the processes inside the facility. Employees are also exposed to cold temperatures, which is dependent on the actual outside temperature. While in the manufacturing area, employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to include noise/hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields and steel-toed work shoes.
