Facility Custodian

Job Description:

Boart Longyear is looking to hire a Facility Custodian in our office in Wytheville, VA. The Facility Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment within the Wytheville office. This part-time role provides routine cleaning and light maintenance support to ensure the facility remains presentable and welcoming for employees and visitors.

Responsibilities:

- Perform routine cleaning of offices, restrooms, common areas, and meeting spaces.

- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors, furniture, and surfaces.

- Empty trash receptacles and recycling bins; ensure proper disposal of waste.

- Restock restroom and breakroom supplies as needed.

- Report any maintenance or repair needs (e.g., plumbing, lighting, safety hazards).

- Support overall facility appearance by maintaining entrances and walkways as required.

- Perform other related custodial duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

- Prior custodial, housekeeping, or facilities maintenance experience preferred.

- Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.

- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, stand, and perform repetitive tasks.

- Dependable and detail-oriented.
