The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment throughout the Mursix facility. This position performs routine cleaning, sanitizing, and light building maintenance tasks while ensuring compliance with company safety and environmental standards.
- Perform general cleaning duties in designated office areas and exercise room, including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, buffing/scrubbing floors, dusting blinds and windowsills, washing windows, and cleaning soiled surfaces, three times weekly.
- Clean and disinfect all restrooms daily. Includes emptying trash receptacles and cleaning the office lunch area before and after lunch. Restock paper products, soap, and other supplies as needed.
- Clean the lunch area floors in the cafeteria before and after lunch breaks and restock supplies twice daily. Clean additional lunch areas, including those in office, shipping, and the Operations Center daily. Lunchroom cleaning includes ovens, microwaves, and refrigerators.
- Perform additional cleaning and sanitizing as needed due to environmental or communicable disease concerns.
- Provide backup to other maintenance personnel as required; run errands as needed.
- Monitor maintenance supply inventory and notify supervisor when restocking is necessary.
- Adhere to all safety requirements and protocols, environmental guidelines, and company rules and policies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Completion of at least 10th grade education; High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of previous custodial or maintenance experience; 3 or more years preferred.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Commitment to workplace safety, cleanliness standards, and confidentiality where appropriate.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality.
- Ability to lift at least 25 lbs.
- Must be able to move freely within the office and work area.
- Requires independence, sound judgment, and discretion in performing job duties.
- Great hand and eye coordination.
- Exposure to noise, dust, and metal particles in a manufacturing setting.
- Role may require standing, bending, lifting, mobility across the production floor and working with hands for extended periods.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
