The Opportunity
We are seeking a Facilities Technician to join our Canada Gas Operations team in the town of Dawson Creek, BC.
Reporting to the Area Manager, the technician will support the continued maintenance and operation of TC Energy facilities in the CGL East Area. The successful candidate will apply their mechanical and technical skills to keep our natural gas compressor stations, measurement stations, and pipeline sites running smoothly.
The role is overtime eligible with a regular work schedule as following:
- Week 1 – Monday to Thursday 9 hours / day; Friday is an 8-hour day
- Week 2 – Monday to Thursday 9 hours / day; Friday is a Regular Day Off (RDO)
- Ensure facilities and personnel comply with TC Energy’s health, safety, environment, and risk standards
- Oversee third party contractors
- Perform monthly and annual preventive maintenance and inspections on office and facility equipment
- Perform routine pipeline, gas measurement and compression maintenance activities as required
- Utilize computers and e-mail for internal and external communication, record keeping, maintenance management, on-line reporting, material and supply ordering and filing of various forms
- Understand emergency management, preparedness and response procedures for work locations
- Interpret technical reference documents, drawings and vendor manuals
- Provide support to our business partners as required
- High School Diploma/GED
- Excellent work safety record and a safe work attitude
- Planning and organization skills
- Highly motivated with strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills
- Collaborative in a team environment that includes shared responsibilities and independent execution of specific tasks
- Proven mechanical aptitude
- Experience providing work direction and guidance
- Ability and desire to learn new software and computer systems
- Have and maintain a valid driver's license and a safe driving record
- Successfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, to include drug and alcohol testing
- Travel frequently within the assigned area of responsibility as well as occasionally to other company locations which may include overnight trips
- Spend long periods at a computer work station, drive long distances and be exposed to field operations and construction environments
