Overview:
The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for managing and maintaining all Prairie State Generating Company (PSGC) properties, including Lively Grove coal mine surface buildings, Prairie State Rescue building, Corporate offices, and additional facilities. This role involves servicing and repairing equipment such as HVAC, septic systems, pumps, and electrical components. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual capable of identifying maintenance issues quickly and implementing efficient solutions. Availability for 24/7 on-call support is required. Leadership and cost management skills are essential, as this role will supervise Facilities Technicians, Senior Facilities Technicians, Lead Facilities Technician, and Facilities Coordinator.
Responsibilities:
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, any of the following assigned areas:
•Supervise and manage daily operations of PSGC facility maintenance.
•Identify and assess issues in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other systems.
•Communicate with managers and customers on the status of projects.
•Maintain accurate equipment/system records.
•Develop and execute preventive maintenance plans.
•Seek approval for projects that are out of the day-to-day work scope.
•Create policies and procedures for facilities usage and supply management.
•Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
•Manage internal and external facility maintenance projects.
•Coordinate with PSGC departments and external vendors for construction and repair activities.
•Oversee safety training for facility personnel.
•Track warranty-covered equipment and manage receivables/inventory via ATS.
•Provide regular performance evaluations for staff and contractors.
•Assist in annual and 5-year budget preparation for facilities operations.
•Must have regular and reliable attendance.

+ HVAC Services.
•Facility Oversight Includes, but not limited to:
+ Corporate Building.
+ Rescue Building.
+ Corporate buildings like the Dunn House, Lischer House, and Fitness Center.
+ Mine Admin Buildings and Surface Facilities.
+ Residential Rental Properties.
+ Pump Stations.
+ Guard Shacks.
+ Contractor Village Buildings.
+ Power Block Admin Building.
+ Fence Lines, Driveways, Automatic Gates.
+ Jordan Grove.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position will have direct supervision of Facilities Technicians, Senior Facilities Technicians, Lead Facilities Technician, and Facilities Coordinator.
Qualifications:

Education/Experience
•High school diploma required.
•Associate’s degree in HVAC, Electrical, or related field (or equivalent work experience) preferred.
•Minimum 10 years of experience in construction management or facility maintenance.
•Experience using Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Certification/Licensure
•Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred).
•MSHA Mine Surface certification preferred.
•OSHA 40-hour certification preferred.
Knowledge of
•General building construction and maintenance.
•Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, and Carpentry Systems.
•OSHA and MSHA regulations.
•Local, state, and federal building codes.
•Budget management and cost control.
•Communication systems and infrastructure.
•Proficient in MS Office.
Skills, abilities and physical requirements
•Skilled in developing RFQs, RFPs, SOWs, and evaluating contractor bids.
•Strong leadership skills in the Facilities Department.
•Successful project management capabilities.
•Effective communication and negotiation with vendors and staff.
•Ability to manage large-scale maintenance projects.
•Strong organizational and time-management skills.
•Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
•Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
+ Work in close quarters.
+ Work from elevated positions, walk or climb up and down stairways and ladders and climb on and off of equipment and must be able to bend or stoop for a full shift.
+ Don and wear required safety equipment including respirators, hearing and eye protection, and protective clothing.

Compensation and Benefits
At Prairie State, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as one grows and develops within a role. The base pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this role is between $ 88,000 per year salary exempt and $104,000.00 per year salary exempt. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as skills, qualifications, and relevant experience. In addition, this position is eligible to participate in the Company’s monthly incentive program.

Prairie State offers all full-time employees paid time off, accruing 160 hours annually with gradual increases based on length of service, as well as nine paid holidays per year. Paid maternal and paternal leave is also available to employees that meet the eligibility requirements.
