Reporting to the Exploration Coordinator, you will be part of the Exploration Department. You will provide essential geological support to the exploration team, primarily focusing on logging and sampling drill holes using the latest software and technology.
- Accurately log, photograph, and sample drill core.
- Perform geological mapping, sampling, and prospecting activities.
- Ensure geological data is collected in accordance with QA/QC protocols.
- Assist core technicians with geotechnical logging, sample preparation, and core management.
- Maintain up-to-date databases for surface exploration and diamond drilling data.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of exploration programs.
- Assist with tracking drilling progress and performance daily, as needed.
- Participate in the reporting of activities.
- Enhance the overall geological knowledge of the property.
- Participate in health and safety meetings and ensure adherence to environmental and safety protocols on work sites.
- Bachelor's Degree in Earth Science, Geology or Geological Engineering.
- Membership as a Professional Geologist in a Canadian province or territory, or eligibility and pursuit of professional accreditation in geology within Canada.
- Two years of experience in the field of exploration.
- Experience in core logging using standard geological software.
- Class G Driver's License.
- Experience core logging using standard geological software and/or interpreting various types of geological data in a GIS (ArcGIS) platform and Leapfrog Geo for exploration applications are considered an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Schedule: 21 days of work, followed by 21 days for transportation and rest;
- Accommodation and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from Hope Bay Project and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
