Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Senior Exploration Geologist, you will be part of the Exploration Department. You will be responsible to provide geological support to the exploration team that will focus on logging exploration drill holes using current software.
- Provide geological support to the exploration team that will focus on logging exploration drill holes using current software and protocols as outlined by the Company;
- Ensuring geological data is collected to specified standards and QA/QC protocol is followed and drill logs are error free and validated;
- Field work may include spotting surface drill hole collars, surface mapping and prospecting while ensuring adherence to all statutory requirements and Company Safety, Health and Environmental standards and procedures.
- Additional duties include the monitoring of exploration drilling programs, interpretation of drill results and working with other exploration geologists to advance concepts and ideas
- Aid in completing weekly KPl's, including assigned drillhole tracking and core logging related tasks;
- Monitor the work and performance of exploration geologists and core technicians.
- Bachelor's Degree in a Earth Science program, or Bachelor's of Science;
- Must either have a membership as a Professional Geologist in Province of Ontario (P.Geo).
- One to three years' of experience working in an open pit, underground mining or exploration field.
- Experience core logging using a standard geological software, preferably DHLogger.
- Class G Driver's License.
- Experience using and/or interpreting various types of geological data in a GIS (ArcGIS or Map Info) platform for exploration applications.
- Strong computer and data management skills.
- Schedule: 5/2 (Monday to Friday) schedule at our Timmins Exploration Office.
- Occassional visits to our Ontario sites may also be required.
