Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the General Supervisor, you will be part of the Exploration Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Supervise geological work (core logging, mapping, sample collection, QAQC), to ensure alignment with best practices for exploration;
- Reporting and interpretation of geological data and developing geological models to be used in resource estimation and working with other exploration geologists to advance concepts and ideas.
- Planning and coordinating the details logistics of active drill programs to ensure drill holes are prioritized to product expected results and activities happen in a cost effective work schedule;
- Planning drill hole locations and expected deviations for drill hole traces to effectively test the mineralization and exploration targets as directed;
- Calculating mineralization composites and complete interpretation of geological information to document results of drill programs;
- Completing required weekly, monthly and quarterly reports;
- Complete field visits to ensure drill and exploration programs are conducted to high standards;
- Plan and coordinate any type of assigned exploration program including geological interpretations, diamond drilling, geophysical and geochemical, surveys, mapping, trenching, compilation etc.;
- Assessment of property scale potential and generation of regional exploration targets.
- Collaborate with geological and technical colleagues to ensure consistency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Earth Sciences;
- Registration as a Professional Geoscientist in the Province of Ontario (P.Geo.) required;
- 8+ years in mineral exploration, experience involved with early stage, advanced exploration or an Open Pit or underground mine environment, specifically Archean Gold deposits;- Demonstrated commitment to safety, environment and community;
- Capacity to coach, guide, influence and develop other Geologists and Technicians;
- Proficiency with GIS software platforms;
- Proficiency with 3D modelling software (Datamine, Leapfrog) an asset;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
