As a key member of the Hecla Nevada Regional Exploration team the incumbent Senior Exploration Geologist will be responsible for assuming a strategic role in leadership and direction of near mine, district, and regional exploration activities.
The Senior Exploration Geologist will work in a fast-paced, demanding, dynamic and results-driven atmosphere. Adherence and promotion of all applicable safety, environmental and regulatory requirements is mandatory. The Senior Exploration Geologist will supervise, mentor, and advise the exploration staff team members and contractors to ensure business plans are achieved. Position-specific requirements may include generation and supervision of near mine and district drill targets, geologic mapping and sampling, budget preparation, reporting, project management, planning geophysical surveys and generation of systematic and detailed geologic maps, cross-sections, and geologic modeling.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Foster a safe work environment and ensure adherence to all applicable regulations, best practices, and company standards.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop direct reports.
- Lead regional geological interpretations, mapping, and sampling efforts.
- Generate geologic maps, cross-sections, 3D models, and presentation materials using Vulcan and ArcGIS.
- Plan, budget, and execute exploration drilling programs (surface and underground).
- Log and sample drill core and chips with accuracy and consistency.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of NI 43-101–compliant resource models.
- Collect, interpret, and provide geological data to internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Corporate, Mine Operations, Engineering, and Permitting/Environmental.
- Align geology initiatives with overall organizational goals and business strategy.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues, contractors, vendors, and externalpartners.
- Bachelor of Science in Geology required; advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.
- Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience, with preference for expertise in low-sulfidation epithermal deposits.The position is based on a standard 4-days-on/3-days-off rotation; however, alternative schedules may be considered. Depending on business needs, weekends and rotating shifts may be required.
