Position Summary

Key member of the SAP BW4HANA team responsible for the technical design and coding. Supports SAP modules by implementing, solving break/fix issues, and by providing design and development of RICEFW objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms and Workflows). Collaborate with other teams such as Business Analysts, Functional, Basis and Security Teams. Collaborate and provide excellent customer service to end users by working closely with the Functional, Development, BASIS, and Security teams within the ERP division and project teams, to deliver high quality solutions on time. Experience converting functional requirement / specification into technical design document.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top half of the range described below, but the decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.​

A reasonable salary range is: ​

Bay Area Minimum: $128,000.00

Bay Area Maximum: $218,000.00

Job Responsibilities

Proven BW solution architecture, define (Requirement Gathering), Gap findings, Build & Deliver. Good verbal as well business handling experience. Extensive knowledge on BW versions 7.x modeling

Good knowledge of SAP releases and patches, including applying OSS notes. Develops test plans to verify logic of new or modified programs. Identifies issues as appropriate

Collaborate and provide excellent customer service to end users by working closely with the Functional, Development, BASIS, and Security teams within the ERP division and project teams, to deliver high quality solutions on time. Experience converting functional requirement / specification into technical design document.

Excellent working knowledge of upgrades, enhancements & support SDLC lifecycle and best practices of testing lifecycle. Must be able to effectively troubleshoot performance, connectivity, and other related issues from an administrator and developer point of view.

Assists in resolving production support issues. Develops and suggests alternative approaches to resolving developers’ issues. Conducts quality assurance activities such as peer reviews. Good knowledge of SAP releases and patches, including applying SAP BW OSS notes

Working experience with BW, BPC, BOBJ & BODS helps apply changes and logic at appropriate layer. Strong knowledge in BW-ABAP for development around routines, ABAP transformation codes, extractor level codes etc.

Strong knowledge on system stability BW tasks like partitions creation, BW statistics, Performance tuning of jobs, data retention, ABAP programs optimization, redesign of solutions needing improvements.

Extensive knowledge building custom extractors and custom complex code at routines and BW custom code.

Experience with BW4HANA & HANA Modeling with extensive knowledge of Calculative, Analytical and Attribute views.

Good understanding of performance tuning of reports and Dashboards must work as independent contributor / team player. Experience writing BW Queries using BEx Query Designer and creating complex workbooks before and after input values customization.

Added advantage functional knowledge of SAP Supply Chain & Logistics, PM, FI-CO, HR, PS, BPC modules.

Understanding of the BW7.4/BW4HANA & HANA security, analytical authorizations, with respect to various HANA / Business Warehouse Data Models.

Key member of the SAP BW BOBJ Support team responsible for the technical design and future upgrade roadmap. Supports SAP module & cross modules reporting by implementing, solving break/fix issues, and by providing design and development of RICEFW objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms and Workflows).

Develops test plans to verify logic of new or modified roles testing & report interface migration. Identifies issues as appropriate in network and domain naming related.

Create and enhance Business Objects reports to support dynamic business value needs. Participating in agile team ceremonies supporting the development and maintenance of application reporting.

Support application performance as relates to reporting statistics and memory utilization. Present information through reports and visualization. Work with stakeholders to understand application needs. Improve performance and extend report functionality.

Investigate all reported problems/errors & initiate amendments & testing so that the system can operate correctly & efficiently as business reporting requirements. Map upgrades path inline with SAP product road map.

Freedom of Action: Regularly called on to apply creativity or new approaches to technical assignments that may be unique. May lead others on technically complex projects or work. Solid understanding of the impact to all application areas of systems/sub- systems modifications and enhancements; understands impact to business; has broad, over-arching understanding of impact to IT. Leads teams of programmer- analysts

Internal/External Contact: Regularly represents team and/or manager at client meetings. Collaborates with Project Manager on complex large project timelines, identifying critical path, resource assignments, risks, and dependencies.

Problem Solving: Resolves application development problems of complex scope through cross-functional team participation.

Qualifications

Minimum:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

7 years’ experience in SAP BW & BW4HANA with HANA Modeling

Desired:

Graduate Degree or equivalent experience

Leadership experience, team player and lead with example.

Preferred Candidates have:

Strong knowledge of HANA View Modeling, Analytical View, Attribute View, and different Calculation Views. Ability to write SQL Scripts, stored procedures and integrate in CDS / HANA views.

Minimum of 5 years of HANA modelling experience.

Must have CDS views customization experience.

Working experience of S4HANA embedded reporting customization.
