We are seeking a highly organized and dynamic Event Program Lead
to lead the development and execution of all presentations and panel components (virtual and/or in person) for our immersive two-week professional experience. In this pivotal role, you will manage all aspects of speaker recruitment, content development, presentation preparation, and live event delivery, ensuring a seamless, engaging, and high-quality experience for all participants.
- Design & Development: Manage the design and development of all presentations and panel components (virtual and/or in person) of the two-week experience, in alignment with overall program themes.
- Recruitment & Coordination: Lead the identification, recruitment, and coordination of subject matter experts to serve as speakers and panelists.
- Moderation & Hosting: Lead the identification, recruitment and coordination of host presenters and moderators who will deliver introductions, facilitate Q & A sessions, guide conversations and pose relevant questions to panelists.
- Content Cohesion & Refinement:
- Brief and prepare speakers to align their presentations with program themes, ensuring content cohesion
- Facilitate working group discussions related to speaker and panel planning.
- Preparation & Quality Control:
- Review submitted speaker materials for consistency in format, visuals, and messaging.
- Screen and refine presentation and panel content to maximize engagement and thematic consistency.
- Provide presentation training to all speakers and panelists, ensuring alignment with program vision, purpose, and expectations.
- Set and manage preparation timelines with speakers and panelists to ensure readiness and quality delivery.
- Arrange standby speakers and panelists to mitigate any last-minute cancellations.
- Logistics & Compliance:
- Support speakers with any required permissions for participation and recording, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Manage all communications and login coordination for speakers and panelists.
- Virtual/In Person Setup & Quality:
- Ensure speakers and panelists have a professional virtual/in person setup.
- Coordinate speaker and panelist scheduling, ensuring familiarity with the selected presentation platform (e.g., Microsoft Teams) and virtual participation protocols.
- Live Event Management: Manage the setup and execution of all live event components during the two-week experience.
- Conduct environment checks at each location to confirm bandwidth and AV capabilities meet requirements.
- Coordinate and ensure real-time support for speakers and panelists during live events.
- Recording: Record all live sessions (when required) for future use in education and awareness initiatives.
- Two (2) to five (5) years of
proven
experience as an Event Program Lead, Event Program Manager or Event Manager, ideally within a professional development, post-secondary education or corporate training environment.
- Mining industry experience is an asset.
- Exceptional skills in project management, timeline adherence, and cross-functional coordination.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, recruit, and manage professional speakers or subject matter experts.
- Strong experience in content review, coaching, and presentation development.
- Proficiency with virtual event platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc.) and virtual event logistics.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to confidently host, moderate, and provide constructive feedback.
- High attention to detail with a focus on delivering a premium, cohesive, and professional experience.
This is a six (6) to eight (8) month contract position.
Some short travel may be required in addition to possibly up to two weeks of consecutive travel in early May 2026 (within Canada).
