Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring that all aspects of the project are considered. This role requires strong analytical skills, knowledge of construction management, and the ability to negotiate effectively with contractors and suppliers. The Estimator will play a crucial role in project management by providing essential data that influences decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
Duties
•Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
•Utilize construction estimating software such as HeavyBid to create detailed and accurate estimates.
•Collaborate with project managers to ensure all aspects of the project are accounted for in the estimates.
•Conduct site visits to gather information on existing conditions and assess potential challenges.
•Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable pricing.
•Monitor costs throughout the project lifecycle to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
•Prepare and present detailed reports on estimates to stakeholders for review and approval.
•Maintain organized records of all estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to projects.
Qualifications
•Proven experience in construction estimating or related field is preferred.
•Strong knowledge of construction management practices and principles.
•Proficiency in using estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam.
•Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
•Ability to build strong relationships with contractors, suppliers, and team members.
•Strong negotiation skills with a focus on achieving favorable outcomes.
•Familiarity with cost control measures and project management methodologies.
•Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
