JOB SUMMARY
The Estimator role will be responsible for evaluating project plans, specifications, and project requirements to prepare detailed cost estimates for pavement and asphalt rehabilitation projects. This role will be required to work very closely with management, the bid and contract coordinator, project managers, subcontractors, and many other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely estimates that align with company goals and objectives. The Estimator will analyze project specifications, prepare a comprehensive cost estimate and submit the bid estimate.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES [TRAVEL, SUPERVISORY EXPECTATION, ETC.]
•Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for potential projects while considering labor, materials, equipment and other overhead costs necessary and keep information and documents stored in Method
•Develop and submit competitive bids for new projects, ensuring we meet all requirements
•Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, material costs, and competitor pricing and research plan rooms and other agency websites for potential project opportunities
•Partner with Business Development for growth opportunities and bid requirements
•Work with Project Managers, Engineers, and other clients or companies to gather information to accurately estimate project costs
•Update and maintain records of all estimates, bids and project costs and ensure proper classification of primary or sub-contractor bids
•Coordinate all final numbers in conjunction with the Bid & Contracts Coordinator
•Visit construction sites to gather information and analyze proposals, specifications, plan sets, and construction documents to understand the project
•Attend all required pre-bid meetings, prepare bid documents and meet with subcontractors
•All other tasks as assigned

•Knowledge of pavement construction and rehabilitation industry processes and standards

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
•2-4 year college degree preferred in Construction Management, Project Management or Engineering or other related field
•2-3 years estimating in construction; pavement industry preferred
WORK ENVIRONMENT [INCLUDES WORK HOURS, WORK SETTING, TRAVEL, ETC.]
•Primarily working in an office setting during a standard work week; Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
•Ability to work under tight deadlines
•Travel will be required on occasion to various construction job site, pre-bid meetings or other company locations
