ERP Application Developer Senior

Summary:

We are looking for an SAP Integration Developer to join our dynamic SAP technical team, which is responsible for supporting and enhancing our SAP landscape across a variety of applications. This role will focus on SAP integration, specifically with SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI), SAP Process Integration (PI), SAP Process Orchestration (PO), SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), and other integration solutions.

What You'll Do:

As an SAP Integration Developer, you will play a pivotal role in architecting and implementing integration solutions that enable seamless communication between SAP and non-SAP systems.

You will leverage SAP PI/PO, CPI, BTP, and other middleware tools to develop robust interfaces, manage system integrations, and enhance the overall functionality of our SAP applications.

This is a highly technical role with the expectation to provide hands-on development, troubleshooting, and mentoring to junior team members. Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in order to contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and methodologies.

Long Description:

Integration Development:

- Design, implement, and maintain SAP integration solutions, focusing on SAP CPI, SAP PO/PI, and SAP BTP.

- Experience with the capabilities of the SAP Integration Suite and the Edge Integration Cell

- Develop, configure, and test interfaces for SAP and non-SAP systems using different middleware technologies (CPI, PI/PO, BTP, etc.).

- Ensure integration solutions meet business requirements and align with enterprise architecture principles.

- Build and maintain end-to-end integrations between SAP and third-party applications, both cloud-based and on-premise.

ABAP Development:

- Develop ABAP programs, function modules, and enhancements as part of integration processes.

- Utilize standard SAP tools (IDOC, BAPI, RFC, ALE) and other custom ABAP code to support integration scenarios.

- Participate in SAP system upgrades and application maintenance with a focus on integration touchpoints.

System Monitoring & Troubleshooting:

- Monitor and troubleshoot integration flows using tools like SAP PI/PO monitoring, CPI Operations, and BTP monitoring services.

- Diagnose and resolve integration-related issues promptly to minimize system downtime.

- Provide support for production incidents and perform root cause analysis for integration failures.

Collaborative Development:

- Work closely with functional teams (e.g., SAP MM, SD, FICO) to understand business processes, gather requirements, and translate them into technical integration solutions.

- Collaborate with cloud teams and third-party vendors to design and implement secure, scalable, and efficient interfaces.

- Participate in code reviews and ensure development follows best practices and coding standards.

- Proactively suggest improvements to integration designs to ensure high performance and scalability.

- Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance on integration topics.

- Document integration solutions, design specifications, and troubleshooting guides for internal use.

- Share knowledge and expertise on integration best practices with the wider technical team.

What It Takes to Succeed:

- 4+ years of hands-on experience with SAP integration tools and technologies (CPI, PI, PO, BTP).

- Strong experience in ABAP development with a focus on integration scenarios (IDOCs, RFC, BAPI, ALE).

- Deep understanding of SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI), SAP Process Orchestration (PO), and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).

- Experience in building both synchronous and asynchronous integration scenarios across hybrid landscapes (on-premise & cloud).

- Hands-on experience with SAP Cloud SDK, APIs, and web services (REST/SOAP).

- Experience in monitoring tools such as SAP Solution Manager, SAP BTP, and CPI monitoring dashboards. Proficiency in overall ABAP development (Reports, Forms, Enhancements, User Exits, Workflow).

- Familiarity with SAP integration methods (IDOC, ALE, BAPI, RFC, File-Based, SOAP, REST).

- Knowledge of SAP Fiori and S/4HANA integration capabilities is a plus.

- Experience with cloud integration tools like SAP API Management and SAP Graph API.

- Strong SQL and database skills, especially related to SAP HANA or similar databases.

- Working knowledge of security protocols (OAuth, SAML, SSL) for secure integrations.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience working with SAP S/4HANA systems or migration projects from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA.

- Experience with the capabilities of the SAP Integration Suite and the Edge Integration Cell

- Experience with SAP Fiori and integrating Fiori apps with SAP back-end systems.

- Certifications in SAP Integration or SAP Cloud Platform are a plus.

- Experience in Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

• For a Level 2 (Journey), a minimum of two years of experience to four years related experience is required (if no degree, six-eight years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience totaling six-eight years).

Education:

A bachelor's degree related to the assignment from an accredited institution is preferred.
