Join Hitachi Energy’s Service Business as a Transformer Service Equipment Specialist, where you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting transformer and power grid service teams by managing the lifecycle of specialized tools, diagnostic equipment, and service vehicles. Your work will ensure that field teams have reliable, compliant, and well-maintained resources to deliver safe and efficient maintenance, testing, and repair services. You’ll address logistical challenges, optimize asset utilization, and contribute to the reliability and innovation of the power grid by enabling seamless service operations.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Maintain inventory of service tools, diagnostic instruments, and transformer testing equipment.
- Ensure all equipment is calibrated, certified, and compliant with industry standards.
- Plan and coordinate new equipment purchases and end-of-life replacements.
- Oversee the company’s service vehicle fleet, including scheduling maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
- Track vehicle usage, mileage, fuel consumption, and service records.
- Coordinate logistics for equipment and vehicle deployment to warehouse and field locations.
- Support field teams with vehicle assignments and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with procurement, warehouse, and vendor teams for asset management and operational efficiency.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, Logistics, or related field preferred. Alternatively, 10+ years of relevant work experience will be considered. - 3+ years of experience in equipment or fleet management, ideally in the service or transformer industry.- Familiarity with transformer testing equipment (e.g., Doble, Megger, Omicron) and fleet management systems.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel occasionally (25%) to support field operations.
