JOB DESCRIPTION

Title: Equipment Mechanic

Description: Rawson Materials, a quality aggregate producer, is seeking a highly qualified, self-motivated individual with a demonstrated background in heavy equipment maintenance and repair to perform all necessary duties ensuring continued operation and function of various types of hauling, loading, and transporting machinery.

Hours: Monday- Friday 6:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays 7:00 am – 12:00 p.m.

Reporting: Senior Vice President/Equipment Maintenance Manager (Foreman)

Requisites:

· Mechanical background with 3 years aggregate equipment maintenance experience preferred.

· Advanced mechanical skills needed.

· Cutting and welding skills required.

· Must have knowledge of production equipment used in the operation.

Responsibilities:

· Repair, rebuild, and maintain mining and quarrying equipment such as excavators, loaders, cranes, graders, man-lift, bulldozers, pumps, generators, compressors, and pneumatic tools.

· Perform preventative maintenance services such as changing oil and fluids on heavy equipment machinery and on-road vehicles.

· Inspect, repair, and replace defective or worn parts, such as bearings, pistons, and gears.

· Disassemble and reassemble heavy equipment and components.

· Trouble shoot structural, electrical, and hydraulic repairs on equipment.

· Occasionally perform structural modifications, repairs, including electrical, on crushing equipment.

· Document repairs using proper reporting procedures.

· Maintain a clean, safe working environment as well as follow and promote safety culture within, and outside of, the workshop.

· May be called upon at discretion of the Foreman or Vice President to perform any other duties assigned and/or to assist other departments if necessary.

· May be called upon at the discretion of the Supervisor to perform any other duties assigned and/or to assist other departments if necessary.

· Wear a hardhat, safety glasses, steel-toed footwear, gloves, hearing protection and respirator as needed.

· Perform a variety of important tasks and duties as needed and assigned.
