Hycroft Mining Holding Corporation is a US-based gold and silver mining company, which operates its wholly owned Hycroft open pit, gold, and silver mine located an hour southwest of Winnemucca, Nevada.
As an Environmental Technician, you will support compliance with environmental permits and programs through diligent sampling and monitoring. You will manage daily record-keeping and data management tasks with accuracy and efficiency. Additionally, you will regularly collaborate with mine personnel to ensure effective communication and operational alignment. The Environmental Technician reports to the Environmental Engineer.
· Collect water and soil samples from various on-site and off-site locations at the mine.
· Operate and maintain a variety of instruments and equipment to gather accurate environmental data.
· Input, retrieve, and manage analytical data using various data management systems.
· Conduct and review daily and weekly inspections of sites and equipment to ensure compliance and functionality.
· Maintain accurate documentation of collected sample data for regulatory and operational purposes.
· Assist in preparing and reviewing weekly and quarterly regulatory reports.
· Participate in environmental regulatory inspections to ensure adherence to standards.
· Support incident investigations and prepare corrective action memos.
· Assist with coordination and execution of current and future environmental projects.
· Help maintain an inventory of environmental supplies and equipment.
· Exercise discretion and sound judgment in all job duties.
· Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) provided by the mine for assigned tasks.
· Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to support operational goals.
· Work safely to minimize risks to self and others.
· Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
· 1–3 years of environmental experience preferred, with 2 years in an operating mine highly desirable.
· Self-motivated, trustworthy, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision in the field.
· Strong organizational skills to manage data and tasks efficiently.
· Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with team members and stakeholders.
· Ability to safely operate vehicles and navigate dirt roads to prevent property damage and safety incidents.
· Capability to deliver samples to vendors or analytical laboratories within holding time deadlines.
· HAZWOPER, RCRA, Method 9, and DOT certifications for waste inspections and disposal preferred.
· Physical ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
· Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for assigned tasks and work areas.
· Ability to work frequently in inclement weather conditions, including wet, cold, or hot environments.
· Adhere to all safety and environmental policies and procedures.
· Demonstrate a strong commitment to safe work practices.
· Proactively observe, correct, and report unsafe conditions to ensure a safe work environment.
· Follow operational procedures and comply with all regulatory requirements.
